Hi, I am the manager of the BAE Systems Theatre where the GLAM WIKI event is being held.

Audio for our recordings is drawn off the house PA, meaning that so long as discussions and questions are made over the PA (incl. roving wireless mic's for audience questions) the sound quality is excellent.

Kind Regards
Kirk

Great to hear that the presentations will be recorded under free licenses.

Often presentation recordings have good video (thx to FullHD-Camcorders) but suffer from poor audio because the built-in microphone is not sufficient to record the speech across an auditorium chamber. I would wish for the usage of dedicated microphones for the speakers or a connection of the camcorder to the auditorium PA system. Eventually a separate audio recording could later be mixed with the video.

Thank you and I wish you and us luck with the GLAMS,

Longbow4u

PS: For a similar conference recording see the Gran Canaria Desktop Summit 2009 of KDE and Gnome. They did intersting things in mixing presentations and video, but had some good and some bad results with audio. They released the videos under CC-BY-SA 3.0 (Wikipedia compatible).
